Former school house to showcase eclectic and quirky products
KBW are pleased to announce the letting of the Old School House in popular tourist destination Broadway, to entrepreneurial team with a keen eye for fine art and exquisite taste in jewellery; Broadway Luxury.
Renowned for its art galleries, antique shops, museums, hotels and tea rooms, we see this new business as a perfect fit for the ever-popular Cotswold village. Broadway Luxury offers an eclectic and quirky mix of Art, Sculpture (indoors and outdoors), Bespoke and One-off pieces of furniture, Glassware, Persian Rugs, Home Accessories and Gifts, as well as an Interior Design Service.
One half of the Broadway Luxury duo, David Hamilton, remarked “We are looking forward to bring to the area items that would enhance a home. I live with my family in Broadway and am very pro The Cotswolds. The Old School House is an amazing building and gives us the space required for a luxury showroom. Thank you to Richard Knightley from KBW who was very helpful and professional to deal with”.
As the name suggests, the Old School House was once a hive of activity providing schooling to the local community. The building is believed to have been built in the mid 1800’s and is recognised as a Grade II listed building, with many fine features including that of a block which projects forward on cast iron brackets. The inscription above the gabled porch reads St Michaels Church School.
Today, this historic building fronts onto the main thoroughfare which offers a broad range of shopping facilities. Nearby occupiers include Landmark, OKA, Cotswold Collections, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, The Lygon Arms Hotel and Broadway Museum.
Richard Knightley, Senior Director and Chartered Surveyor at KBW comments: “We quickly concluded the letting of what is a perfect example of Cotswold stone construction, offering not only plenty of history and character, but very usable space for the new occupiers. I’m looking forward to seeing how Andrew and David maximise their use of this great building”.
