The changing face of Cheltenham’s Promenade
KBW is delighted to have been involved with a number of new lettings along Cheltenham’s Promenade recently including Mint Velvet, Santiago’s and Sweaty Betty amongst others.
The latest news of course to be Little Dobbies taking over part of the former GAP premises at the Imperial Gardens end of Promenade. KBW acted on behalf of the Landlord to secure this retailer as it continues to roll out its new in-town format stores and we look forward to them opening their doors in early 2023.
We’ve also completed a letting of the former Bella Italia back in early 2022 to regional tapas restaurant Santiago’s. This is the third restaurant opening for the Santiago’s team and they have really transformed the landscape to offer authentic Spanish cuisine with an opportunity for outdoor dining when the weather warms up!
KBW acted on behalf of the Landlords of 102-104 Promenade, after White Stuff relocated to another shop on the tree lined shopping street, to secure a short term letting to Superdry. The fashion retailer has roots in Cheltenham and the ‘concept store’ opened in December 2021 to showcase the Superdry Studios and Performance Sport collections which will now be used to continue the international expansion of the brand. We have already received offers for the re-available premises so watch this space for further news!
Sweaty Betty enjoyed another Christmas trading on the Promenade after we acted on their behalf in negotiations with the Landlord.
Mint Velvet is the very latest opening at the time of writing. Our Agency team acted on behalf of the Investment Fund Landlord to secure this tenant after receiving three strong offers for the shop. They take on the former Jigsaw premises, who have incidentally relocated to the shop next door, with both newly fitted out units with redecorated shop fronts looking very smart across the backdrop.
These new retailers for 2022 join restauranteurs Franco Manca, the fit out is progressing on new kitchen showroom Roundhouse which we anticipate will open in early 2023, Gentleman’s outfitters The Famous and finally Hatchards bookshop which looks fantastic in the former Jack Wills store.
Promenade is not quite fully occupied, but given the turbulent few years for retail, the famous tree lined shopping street is proving to be more resilient and continues to offer quality shopping brands that attract visitors from near and far.
