Crew Clothing Drops Anchor in a New, Bigger Home

July 23rd 2025

There’s a fresh sea breeze on Cheltenham’s Promenade, and it’s coming straight from Salcombe – well, almost.

A few weeks on from their move to a larger and more prominent location on Promenade, the Crew Clothing team is settling in beautifully. Their signature blue and white storefront now graces a prime spot previously occupied by an art gallery (and Radley before that), and it’s already turning heads.

The relocation, facilitated through KBW’s commercial agency team, has given Crew Clothing significantly more ground floor retail space – the perfect platform to showcase their quintessentially British wardrobe staples. The shop looks smart, polished, and perfectly in keeping with the brand’s timeless aesthetic. It’s a welcome sight on the Promenade, which continues to go from strength to strength, with very few voids and a buoyant rental market.

“It’s brilliant to see this building brought to life again – Crew Clothing have done a fantastic job with the fit-out,” said Richard Knightley of KBW, who advised the landlord throughout the letting process. “Having worked with the landlord for several years, we’re delighted to have secured such a strong and reputable tenant for the next chapter.”

Alex Murray of Green & Partners, who advised Crew Clothing on the acquisition, added:

“We were delighted to secure this prominent unit for Crew Clothing as part of their ongoing strategy to upsize in key market towns. The location offers excellent visibility and footfall, and the move reflects the brand’s continued confidence in bricks and mortar retail. It’s fantastic to see them trading so strongly in their new home on the Promenade.”

Crew Clothing’s team are equally thrilled with their new base. “The response from our customers has been amazing,” said a Crew Clothing spokesperson. “We love the new store – it gives us room to showcase more of our heritage-inspired pieces and really bring the coastal spirit of Crew to Cheltenham”.

The landlord, who has owned the building for a number of years, shared their satisfaction with the outcome: “We’ve always believed in this property’s potential, and KBW’s guidance has been instrumental in achieving such a great result. Crew Clothing are a perfect match – it’s lovely to see the shop looking so vibrant and busy again.”

With very few voids, the outlook for Cheltenham’s retail heart is brighter than ever – and Crew Clothing is proving to be a perfect fit.

Here’s to smooth sailing ahead.
